The mains voltage is transformed according to the required maximum output voltage. A controlled rectifier with thyristors (phase control) is located on the secondary side of the transformer. The rectified voltage is used to charge the capacitor bank of the intermediate circuit, from where the voltage is sent to the output via a serial control transistor. The thyristors are switched on with a certain delay after the zero crossing of the mains voltage. This regulates the energy flow in such a way that the voltage drop across the regulating transistor assumes a defined value (pre-stabilization). The final stability of the output values ??is determined by the control transistor (main control).
